Whilst away for a week in a lodge next to Darwin Forest in Derbyshire we would take regular walks through the forest. This year (2026) has been particularly hot and the warmth continued into the autumn. Althought this 'wood is managed by the Forestry Commission there are many discarded trees that seemed to be am great nursery for all sorts of fungi. I am not a great photographer for this sort of stuff buy it was irresistible
